Development and application of shaped fibers

The profiled fiber was originally introduced by the DuPont Company in the early 1950s with a triangular section, and in turn, Germany developed a pentagonal section. In the early 1960s, the United States developed hollow fiber with good thermal insulation. Japan has been developing shaped fibers since the 1960s. Subsequently, the United Kingdom, Italy and the former Soviet Union and other countries have also developed such products.
Since the manufacture of shaped fibers and the textile processing technology are relatively simple, and the investment is small, the effect is fast, so the development is also relatively fast. The development of shaped fibers in China was in the mid-1970s. The processing technology has been improved in the manufacture of spinnerets, and the spinnability of the panels has been improved. In terms of spinning, there is a mature and complete process. In textile products, it is mainly based on various natural fibers.
In recent years, the use of shaped fibers has become more and more widespread. Shaped fibers have broad market prospects in the three fields of clothing, decoration and industrial textiles, and are also ideal raw materials for non-woven fabrics and imitation leather coatings. Because it has been found that shaped fibers are increasingly showing the unparalleled superiority of ordinary fibers. For example, in the field of carpets, the special fibers are elastic, non-spherical, and have a high degree of bulkiness, coverage, and antifouling effect. In the field of nonwovens, the adhesion of shaped fibers is much greater than that of circular fibers. In the field of industrial hygiene, brush products made of X and H fibers are much cleaner. In addition to the field of clothing, hollow fiber is widely used in sewage treatment, concentration separation, seawater desalination, and artificial kidney.
